Serving Ukrainian Refugees
Resilience is necessary when war interrupts your mission work.
In February 2022, war with Russia engulfed the Ukraine and millions fled westward for safety. Poland opened it doors to welcome the refugees. An estimated 4.5 million Ukrainians have found temporary refuge in Poland - approximately 2 million have remained. Since the summer of 2022, Eleviva’s Greg Swinamer has been serving Ukrainian refugees in Poland through LIFE centres. In these centres, displaced Ukrainians experience the love of Christ in practical, life-saving. ways. Experience Warsaw’s LIFE Centre via video here.
Connect Church - Giugliano
What do you do when you have a God-burden for the youth of your city and your nation? Vincenzo and Numa Abbate had deep and growing passion for teens and the desire to counteract Italian society’s negative influence on the next generation. So, they opened a youth centre in their city, Giugliano, where young people could feel genuine welcome and joy, and have the opportunity to meet Jesus. From that grew Extreme Teens, a national youth evangelism ministry. In the past year, over 10,000 students have attended assemblies in their schools and heard the Good News. But, since 2019, Vincenzo and Numa have felt a burden to launch a new church in their city of Guigliano.
A new church for a new generation, for a new nation.
Eleviva is a Canadian nonprofit dedicated to transforming Europe through life-giving communities of Christian faith. We exist to empower the local church, and we do this by facilitating church planting, equipping local leaders, and connecting opportunities to resources.
